Hazal

(Turkey, 1981, 90’)

Social injustice is a common theme in dramas in which the problems of a village mentality are highlighted by savvy filmmakers - like Turkish director Ali Özgentürk. Here he tells the story of Hazal, a young woman who is widowed soon after she marries. By tradition she is controlled by her former.
